As a fitness instructor and YouTuber, I was drawn to this approach because it combines mindful movement with the benefits of steady cardio — something everyone can do, anytime, anywhere.That’s why I created my own Japanese 3×3 Walking Workout Series — and it’s now helping thousands of people move, tone, and feel amazing all over the world.
💮 What Is a Japanese Walking Workout?
The idea comes from Japan’s focus on daily movement for health and longevity. Instead of intense, high-impact workouts, this method emphasises consistency — moving your body every day in a sustainable, joyful way.
Each of my 3×3 workouts follows a simple pattern:
3 minutes of brisk walking to raise your heart rate
3 minutes of moderate recovery (but you keep stepping!)
And during those recovery minutes, we add toning moves — for your arms, abs, or full body — so you stay active the entire time.
